China exported 3.3mn t of ammonium sulphate (amsul) in this year's first half, up by 6.2pc on the same period last year.
China exported 2.75mn t of DAP and 1.77mn t of urea over the same period, according to the latest customs data, making amsul the leading fertilizer export so far this year.
Brazil imported 561,780t, nearly doubling its intake against a year earlier and contributing to the overall year-on-year increase.
Turkey imported 313,090t up from 303,338t a year earlier, while Malaysia imported 220,164t and up from 203,572t. These rises helped offset reduced shipments to Indonesia and Vietnam.
The rapid development of China's caprolactam industry has led to increased amsul capacity as a by-product, creating the possibility for more exports.
