David Givens
, Head of Gas and Power, North America, Argus Media, Inc.

David Givens is Head of Gas and Power Services for North America, for Argus Media, a London-based company that is a leading provider of pricing information, business intelligence and market data on the global coal, electricity, oil, gas, emissions and transportation industries.

He joined Argus in June of this 2009 after spending three and a half years at Hart Energy Publishing as group publisher for newsletters. He has also been vice president of market information at Io Energy, now SNL Energy. David was senior electricity correspondent at the wire service BridgeNews. For most of the 1990s, he worked at Gas Daily and Megawatt Daily, becoming managing editor for price surveys.

He has written books about biofuels and about hedging in natural gas markets, is a frequent speaker on energy topics in North America and is responsible for Argus’ natural gas and power indexes.

Amy Strahan,

Amy Strahan is Argus’ LPG/Petrochemicals Editor, based in Houston.

Amy has been with Argus for seven years. She currently edits Argus’ daily NGL Americas, aromatics and olefins reports in addition to several of the weekly publications. She currently covers LPG cargoes out of the US Gulf coast and is a regular contributor to LPG World. Prior to joining Argus, she worked for seven years at Bloomberg News, where she covered the oilfield services sector in the Houston bureau and securities regulation from Bloomberg’s Washington, D.C. office.

A native Texan, Amy earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.

Mark Hanson, CFA, is an energy strategist for Morningstar, responsible for North American oil and gas exploration and production research.

Before joining Morningstar in 2010, he covered healthcare stocks for Artisan Partners during a business school internship. Before business school, he worked in private equity for Keystone Capital, Inc. Previously, he worked in Duff & Phelps’ investment banking group and analyzed private equity and venture capital funds for O’Connor Partners Investment Office.

Hanson holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in business administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Jordan Grimes is a senior commodities analyst for Morningstar, covering key markets in U.S. power and gas.

Before joining Morningstar in 2014, Grimes spent four and a half years as a term power and gas trader for Barclay’s in New York and also worked as a cash power trader for Constellation Energy.

Grimes holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Georgia.
