Ruth has been editor of the Argus Ammonia price reporting service since 2017, most recently overseeing the report’s expansion into the low and zero carbon ammonia space. She joined Argus in 2009 and covered the coal, biomass and freight markets in the UK and US, before moving into fertilizers in 2016. She has a master’s degree in journalism from Brunel University London

Sophie Mason, Manager, Ammonia, Argus Consulting Services

Sophie leads Argus’ ammonia and urea subscription portfolios. She has worked in the consulting arm of Argus for six years, and had several years of experience as an analyst prior to that at Integer Research.

Sophie edits the Argus Ammonia Analytics and Argus Urea Analytics services and has overseen the rapid growth of Argus’ long-term clean ammonia analysis and forecasts. Sophie regularly presents to clients at key industry conferences, meetings and via webinars.

Jake Preston, Analyst, Argus Consulting Services

Jake joined the Argus Consulting team in 2022 works on the ammonia subscription portfolio. His responsibilities include the production of short-term outlook and longer-term analytics reports, which provide an in-depth analysis into the current global ammonia markets, and how it will develop over the coming 25 years. This has expanded to include a focus on low-carbon and green ammonia, including price forecasting, S/D analysis, cost modelling and forecasts of trade patterns over the period. Jake also conducts project reviews to evaluate the feasibility of proposed grey, blue and green ammonia projects.
