Laurent is Deputy Managing Director of Airlines for Europe (A4E) where he oversees sustainability policy. A4E is Europe’s largest airline association, based in Brussels. With a modern fleet of over 3,200 aircraft, A4E airlines carried 75% of Europe’s passengers market last year. As an initiator of the European aviation Destination 2050 roadmap, A4E and its members committed to support the European Green Deal and achieve Net Zero carbon emissions for their operations by 2050. Since 2016 Laurent leads A4E’s members’ work on industry decarbonisation, including carbon markets and sustainable aviation fuels. For over 14 years, he has worked with blue chip companies, trade associations, governments and NGOs in the fields of transport, energy and climate change. He holds a master’s degree in political economy from the London School of Economics (LSE), and a BA in international relations from the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL). Laurent speaks English, French, Spanish and is improving his Icelandic.

Dr. Inmaculada Gómez has worked as sustainability expert at the Spanish public company SENASA since 2007, where she supports the Spanish government on environmental issues for aviation, including local air quality, carbon markets and alternative energies, at national and international levels, focusing during the last decade on SAF. She participates as Spanish expert in the ICAO, ECAC and EU groups related with aviation and environment, as part of the support provided to the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) and the Civil Aviation Directorate (DGAC) at the Ministry of Transports and Sustainable Mobility.

Giulia Squadrin is an associate editor on the Biofuels desk at Argus Media in London. Giulia produces assessments for hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), bionaphtha and biomethanol after having focused on the coverage of the European biodiesel market for two years, pricing benchmark and non-benchmark grades. As part of her role, she works on the analysis of the European biofuels market, including regulatory changes and data management. Prior to joining Argus, Giulia worked with international organisations in Geneva for a year and completed a master’s degree in International Affairs at Middle Tennessee State University.

Guillermo Felipe Rebollo joined the Aviation Policy Unit of DG MOVE in the European Commission last September 2022, where he has been at the core of the leading negotiating team in the trilogue negotiations of ReFuelEU Aviation, giving him detailed experience of the EU legislative process and with the design and implementation of sustainable oriented policies. Now his work will focus on the implementation items. Prior to joining the European Commission, he worked for the European Central Bank in various roles in the Communication of the ECB to the general public as well as in the organisation of high-level meetings and visits of the Board of the ECB. Guillermo holds a Double bachelor’s in business administration and management and in industrial engineering technologies by the University of Deusto, and a master’s in economics focusing in European Law and Economic Analysis by the College of Europe.

Thomas is leading ISCC’s activities in the field of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), with a focus on sustainability certification of SAF under the EU RED and ICAO CORSIA.
