Based in Singapore, Timo is VP Business Development for Chemicals in Asia and the Middle East for Argus Media. He brings 15 years of commercial experience in the petrochemicals sector, which he gained across multiple roles starting at the independent chemicals company Helm AG in Germany. Timo moved to Singapore in 2015 as the Regional Manager Chemicals for Helm Asia and served as Head of Chemicals at thyssenkrupp Materials Trading. He was a Senior Trader at Integra Petrochemicals covering the liquid intermediates portfolio prior to joining Argus. Over the years, he has handled distribution, marketing, logistics, and trading activities across various products and acquired valuable insight into the petrochemicals sector in Asia and globally. Timo holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Louisville.
Elaine. Shen is currently the senior analyst of Argus, based in Shanghai, China. She has nine years of experience analysing the petrochemical market. Before joining Argus, Elaine. Shen worked in the market department of Zhejiang Petrochemical, covering polyethylene, polypropylene and engineering plastics. She also has half year experience as a petrochemical analyst in a think-tank for National Development and Reform Commission. She earned master’s degree in University of International Business and Economics in Beijing.
Rita is a senior analyst who has been covering Chinese polypropylene markets and the northeast Asian vinyl, handling pricing and data analysis. She was part of the team that launched polypropylene (PP) co-polymer fob China and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) fob China prices in 2022 and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) cfr northeast Asia prices in 2023. Prior to joining the Argus in 2022, she was worked in Honors Shancheng, a domestic Chinese trading company, in a team responsible for trading up to 300,000 t/yr of PP hedging, imports, and exports.
Sourasis Bose is a Mumbai-based senior reporter covering the chemicals sector for Argus. He brings four years of experience in business journalism. Prior to joining Argus, he served as a North America energy and commodities correspondent at Reuters, covering major developments including the Russia-Ukraine conflict, US shale industry consolidation, and global fertilizer markets. He earned a bachelor's degree in mass communication from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, and a postgraduate degree in journalism.
Zong Ming Shin is based in Singapore and covers the southeast Asian polyolefins markets. Having come from a previous price reporting background since 2024 at S&P Platts, Shin's portfolio comprised of the propylene, acrylonitrile and propylene oxide markets prior to joining Argus. Shin holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
