The spot market for the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (Corsia)’s Phase 1 has tumbled over the past month, as regulatory uncertainty dampened demand.
The EU has yet to finalize additional criteria for Corsia compliant credits used to fulfil obligations under the current phase, and a draft of proposed criteria suggest nearly all of the existing CP1-tagged supply could be left out of the EU market. The European Commission is also set to submit an opinion in July on whether Corsia is sufficient to meet the bloc’s targets - another decision the whole world has set eyes on.
In this webinar, we examine the key factors driving fundamentals and policy, and explore how the future for this market could look.
