Terry is responsible for the expansion of Polymer Report services in strategic regions. He has over 40 years’ experience relating to the plastics industry, working with converters, brand owners, and resin producers. Terry delivers an integrated view across the polymer value chain and analyses on a global basis including European, Americas and Asian markets. He is currently supporting polymer related growth initiatives, including domestic and export markets, recycling and sustainability initiatives.
Before joining Argus, Terry worked at Dow Chemical, Braskem, and Sasol. He holds a Chemistry degree from the University of Houston and 26 patents across a variety of market applications.
Duane Thompson joined Univation Technologies in 2011 within the marketing group and has served in a variety of roles during his time with Univation. Roles include supporting new build project activities, commercial launch of new products & services, leading digital solutions projects, and deploying various new communication and marketing platforms.
In his current role as Marketing Director, Duane supports a range of strategic and tactical marketing activities for the UNIPOL PE Technology platform and leads marketing activities related to the global launch of the UNIGILITY Tubular High Pressure PE Process as a licensed platform for the production of LDPE and EVA copolymers. Duane's 35-year background in polyolefins includes roles in leadership, manufacturing, R&D, project management, marketing, product development, and commercial scale plant scale-up and polyolefins catalyst plant start-ups.
Bahareh Sayyar is a Senior Manager leading New Technologies Licensing within Dow’s Licensing organization, Univation Technologies. In this role, she leads a licensing team responsible for translating advanced technologies into robust, market‑ready licensing solutions, enabling value creation and long‑term partnerships with petrochemical licensees worldwide.
Previously, Bahareh held leadership roles within Dow’s R&D organization, where she led process technology development and advanced circulating fluidized‑bed (CFB) platforms. Throughout her tenure in Dow R&D, she drove cross‑functional collaboration to accelerate technology development and enable sustainable innovation growth.
Prior to joining Dow, Bahareh held technical and project leadership roles at NOVA Chemicals and WorleyParsons, contributing to advanced polymer technology development and large‑scale capital projects. She holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from McMaster University, an M.S. from the University of Toronto, and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Sharif University of Technology. Bahareh has authored 12 peer‑reviewed publications and holds 8 patent applications.
Owendi Ongayi is a Product Technology Leader with Univation Technologies. In this role, Owendi supports Univation’s Licensees clients based in EMEA and in Asia in defining product requirements ensuring their successful commercialization of Polyethylene in global markets for various end-use applications. Prior to joining Univation, she worked in the Plastics Industry as a Technical Service and Development Engineer for Dow’s plastic business in Spain. This role focused on offering technical support to Dow’s packaging clients located across Africa including market development, formulation optimization and application development, convertor trials and training.
Prior to working in Dow’s plastics business, Owendi worked for Dow Electronic Materials business in Massachusetts as a Research Scientist in the semiconductor industry. In this role she focused on the design, synthesis and development of materials used in the manufacturing of advanced semiconductor devices.
Owendi obtained her PhD in Organic Chemistry from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Joe is a Senior Research Scientist in the Process Research and Implementation organization of Dow’s Packaging and Specialty Plastics business. In this role, he is responsible for process research specifically with the high-pressure technology assets in North America, Middle East and in Europe. Joe started his career in 1999 at Dow’s Polyolefins Research Pilot Plants in Freeport, Tx. Over the past 26 years, he has supported polyethylene process research in LLDPE and in LDPE. He has an extensive background and expertise in developing process technology and reactor/product modeling which have been instrumental for allowing Dow to innovate new products and new process development. Over the years he has led multiple efforts to improve reactor designs for our existing high pressure assets, and also served as the lead researcher for the startup of 2 brand-new world-class LDPE units. Currently he is one of Dow’s senior subject matter experts called on to help troubleshoot complex process issues and also the lead for next generation process improvements.
Joe is an inventor on 14 granted patents and over 50 internal Dow reports. Joe has also received 14 Dow Technology Center Awards. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M-Kingsville and a Masters in Chemical Engineering from The University of Houston.
